President Donald Trump stated Tuesday that he believes Iran will cease uranium enrichment and give up any attempts to develop a nuclear weapon, despite the ongoing deadlock in negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
“Without a doubt they will halt,” Trump stated in an interview on WABC’s “Sid and Friends in the Morning” when questioned about his views on preventing Iran from enriching uranium and creating a bomb.
Trump stated that he has been in direct communication with Iranian officials throughout the discussions.
“I handle them,” Trump stated. “They mentioned that we would receive the dust.” I refer to it as nuclear dust because it fits well. “We’re going to achieve it.”
The president additionally stated that the US doesn’t have to rush into an agreement.
“We’re not going to hurry anything, we have an obstruction,” Trump stated.
The comments were made a day after Trump stated that the ceasefire between the US and Iran is on “massive life support” after Tehran’s recent counterproposal, which he termed as “simply unacceptable.”
