Chinese state media reported that leading trade delegations from the US and China met in South Korea on Wednesday, prior to a highly anticipated summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

“The two parties engaged in frank, comprehensive, and productive discussions concerning the resolution of economic and trade matters of shared interest and the continued growth of practical collaboration,” stated Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, without detailing the particular topics that were addressed.

The delegations were led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng.
