Israel-Hezbollah clashes intensify amid new evacuation orders

Fire exchanges persisted on Saturday between Israel’s military and Hezbollah, as the Iranian-supported group reported nine assaults on Israeli troops.
The Israeli military reported that explosive drones fired by Hezbollah landed in Israeli territory, resulting in serious injuries to one Israeli reservist soldier.
A number of Israeli drone attacks resulted in the deaths of a man and his 12-year-old daughter close to Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, as stated by the Lebanese Health Ministry. The initial assault focused on the motorcycle they were riding, and later attacks resulted in the father’s death and left the daughter in critical condition, as reported by the ministry.

According to Lebanon’s official news agency NNA, an airstrike targeted a vehicle approximately 17 kilometers (nearly 11 miles) south of Beirut airport.
On Saturday, the Israeli military advised residents in nine villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate due to what it described as “Hezbollah’s breach of the ceasefire agreement.” The evacuation orders come after similar requests made on Friday when the Israel Defense Forces instructed residents in various regions, including areas north of the Litani River, to leave a zone it has occupied.
Israel and Hezbollah have both alleged that the other has breached the prolonged ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. US President Donald Trump announced the truce on April 16 to facilitate peace discussions between the Israeli and Lebanese governments.
