Hezbollah published a video on Sunday featuring first-person views from a drone hitting an Iron Dome missile system in northern Israel.
The footage, recorded on Thursday, depicts the drone flying low across the landscape before it directly approaches a missile battery associated with Israel’s renowned aerial defense system. The battery is protected by a concrete wall, yet the drone comes from an exposed direction. The video stops abruptly as the drone seems to hit the battery.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated in a release that one soldier suffered serious injuries and another had moderate injuries due to the attack. “The event ended without affecting the system’s functionality or interception abilities,” stated the IDF.
The video additionally displays clips from the following day, where a different drone comes close and explodes near a troop of soldiers. On Friday, the IDF reported that multiple soldiers were hurt in a drone strike by Hezbollah.
For many years, Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system has demonstrated remarkable efficiency in intercepting high-flying projectiles from Hamas and Hezbollah. The system can also engage mortars. However, it seems susceptible to low-profile threats, like the explosive drones that Hezbollah has been utilizing more frequently. Certain drones operated by Hezbollah utilize hardwired fiber-optic cables to avoid jamming or interference.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced he initiated a “special project” to address the threat posed by drones. “It will take time,” he admitted, “but we are addressing it.”
Why are Iran and Saudi Arabia talking again within 24 hours?

Iran and Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministers had a conversation on Monday for the second time within a 24-hour period, according to Iranian state media.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, discussed the “latest updates” concerning the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States, according to the state news agency IRNA.
The Saudi Press Agency, which is government-operated, reported that bin Farhan received a call from Araghchi on Monday, during which they shared perspectives on the US-Iran discussions.
During this conflict, the two countries experienced a rare confrontation as Iran retaliated against US and Israeli strikes on its territory by targeting Saudi Arabia with missiles and drones.
